Pat Sajak is ready to retire as the long-running host of Wheel of Fortune.
The 76-year-old took to social media today to announce that the upcoming season of the long-running and beloved gameshow will be his last as host.
“Well, the time has come. I’ve decided that our 41st season, which begins in September, will be my last,” Pat wrote. “It’s been a wonderful ride, and I’ll have more to say in the coming months. Many thanks to you all.”
He ended the post by joking, “If nothing else, it’ll keep the clickbait sites busy!”
Pat took over as host of ‘Wheel of Fortune’ in 1981 after replacing original host Chuck Woolery. No word on who's next in line to take over as Pat’s replacement.
