Wendy Williams' ex-husband Kevin Hunter is demanding that Wendy attend the hearings as he challenges her legal guardians’ right to represent her in a New Jersey court.

New filings from Wendy and Kevin's divorce, obtained exclusively by The U.S. Sun, show Kevin has argued her New York-based guardian, Sabrina Morrissey is not allowed to represent her in the New Jersey court.
Additionally, the judge on the case has given Sabrina 21 days to prove to the court that she has the authority to represent Wendy, 60, in the Garden State.
In a filing in July, Kevin argued that Wendy's guardian is not an attorney barred in New Jersey, and he questioned her right to represent the former TV host.
Kevin, 54, wrote in the filing, "Ms. Morrissey’s 'pro se' representation of Ms. Wendy Williams is akin to practicing law without a license as she is neither a barred attorney, nor a Guardian appointed by a New Jersey Court."
Kevin continued, "It is conceivable that, based on the history of Ms. Morrissey as it relates to allegations of malfeasance regarding persons that she is the Guardian of in New York, that Ms. Wendy Williams may not need a guardian according to the laws of the State of New Jersey."
Kevin then requested that the court order Wendy to appear on her own behalf, despite not being in the public eye for over a year.
"The Defendant further asks that the Court order the Plaintiff Wendy Hunter to appear before the court herself.
"Ms. Morrissey is an attorney in New York, not New Jersey and though she claims to have been appointed as a Guardian in New York her Guardianship does not extend to this court as there is no Guardianship established in New Jersey."
Kevin took issue with Wendy's guardian, Sabrina, continuing to represent the host in their divorce, and added, "The Defendant asks that the court sanction Ms. Morrissey and prohibit her from appearing in court as a 'Pro Se' Litigant.
"'Pro Se' by definition is a term that means you are representing yourself in court without a lawyer, and therefore Ms. Morrissey has no legal standing in this preceding.
"Ms. Morrissey is not a party to the divorce and therefore should not be involved in this preceding."
On September 13, the judge in the case wrote in his order that he is responding to Kevin's request to "preclude the appearance of Ms. Sabrina E. Morrissey as guardian for Plaintiff [Wendy]," and that "Ms. Morrissey shall comply with NJSA 3B: 12B-18, to the extent that she has not already done so, within 21 days hereof."
Kevin has been in divorce court fighting for what he says is money still owed to him from his and the former TV host's marital settlement agreement.
According to Wendy's ex, his payments suddenly ceased when Wells Fargo froze the star's accounts back in 2022, and Sabrina was put in place as Wendy's temporary guardian.
Wendy's ex has also argued he was promised access to his ex's financial records by her guardian, but never received them.
Kevin claimed during a mediation session in December 2022, Wendy's divorce attorneys and guardian agreed to provide statements to accounts and bank records after they claimed they got permission from a New York court.
A source close to the mediation negotiations previously revealed to The U.S. Sun that during one meeting between the parties in December, the mediator told her ex and his team, "The reality is that there is no more money."
The insider alleged that despite the mediator's claims that Wendy has no more money, "there was no proof offered to them to support the allegation."
Kevin has repeatedly asked for Wendy's financial records since re-opening the divorce after his payments ceased.
The daytime TV star claimed herself during the Where is Wendy Williams? Lifetime documentary, "I have no money."
"And let me tell you something, if it happens to me, it can happen to you," Wendy declared as she looked into the camera.
The iconic daytime TV host, dubbed the Queen of Daytime TV, lost her lucrative show The Wendy Williams Show, after being absent for the entirety of the 13th season.
If Wendy is on a cognitive decline, then I don't feel that she's fit to sit in a courtroom with her ex. I also feel that if it were anyone else that called Sabrina's intentions into question, I would be here for this suit. However, with Kelvin's thirsty behind setting this into motion, I wouldn't trust him as far as I can throw him.
I do not feel that Kelvin cares about Wendy's well being. He wants to get his hands on her money.
