It’s been a minute since we’ve heard new music from Cardi B, but now she’s back and blessing us not only with a new song, but the visual for her first single of 2020 entitled Wap, which also features hot girl rapper of the moment Megan Thee Stallion.
I know the BARBarians are pressed that Megan is working with Cardi, after she collaborated with Nicki, but good on her for not choosing sides. I know it’s hard for some of you to understand, but this is a business, and artists should be able to work with whomever they choose without having to pick sides in some drama that has nothing to do with them.
As for the video, I liked it. It was colorful, sexy, and the fashions were on point. We also get cameos from Normani, Kylie Jenner, Rosalia and rising rapers Rubi Rose, Mulatto, and Sukihana. I get Rosalia and Normani because they have actual talent, but what was the purpose of Kylie being in the video?
WAP was filmed a week before Megan was shot by Tory Lanez, which now makes sense as to why Kylie has been hanging with Megan, since the incident went down at Kylie’s pool party on July 12th.
As for the song, lyrically I expected more. I personally thought Megan was stronger on the track, but Cardi served looks, personality and titties for your nerve.
It’s a cute bop to get Cardi back on the charts (which she needs right now), but besides that sample it ain’t memorable.
