Atlanta police are investigating after someone ransacked a banquet hall for the Global Black Pride event.

The vandalism happened at the event space for the upcoming Global Black Pride event at 188 14th Street NE, according to the Atlanta Police Department.
Police said they believe an “intoxicated guest of the hotel” caused the damage on Tuesday night.
Video sent to Atlanta News First shows tables flipped over and event memorabilia strewn across the floor. Another video shows a pride flag that was defecated on.
“We at Atlanta Black Pride Weekend are deeply saddened by the recent incident at Global Black Pride’s Global Village. We take this matter very seriously and support Global Black Pride as they work with local authorities to address the situation swiftly and thoroughly. We want to send our love and unwavering support to the Global Black Pride team, with whom we are honored to collaborate with for this year’s Atlanta Black Pride Weekend. Together, we will continue to uplift our community and ensure that all of our events provide a safe and welcoming environment for everyone,” a spokesperson said.
The event kicked off in Atlanta on Tuesday and is supposed to last until Monday, Sept. 2
