TRAILER TRASH: WYRMWOOD: APOCALYPSE

As a hardcore horror movie fan, I will admit that it’s become quite difficult for me to find action-horror that really stands out amongst all the schlocky muck.

However after checking out the trailer for Wyrmwood: Apocalypse I will admit the film has got me quite intrigued.

A sequel to 2015’s Wyrmwood: Road of the Dead, Wyrmwood: Apocalypse follows Rhys, a soldier and a hunter, who lives in a zombie infested wasteland. His job is to capture civilians & deliver them to what’s left of the military & the brutal Surgeon General. When Rhys captures a half-zombie-half-human named Grace, he comes to believe is the key to ending the apocalypse. Working with her sister, Maxi, he works to free Grace before she is subjected to horrible experiments!

One of my biggest complaints in zombie and vampire horror films is that they spend too much time on CGI effects and not enough time on practical effects. From the looks of the trailer, it seems like we’ll be getting more of the latter, which has got me really excited.

WYRMWOOD: APOCALYPSE stars Luke McKenzie (Wentworth, WYRMWOOD: ROAD OF THE DEAD), Bianca Bradey (WYRMWOOD: ROAD OF THE DEAD), Shantae Barnes-Cowan (Total Control), Tasia Zalar (Mystery Road), Jay Gallagher (WYRMWOOD: ROAD OF THE DEAD, NEKROTRONIC), and Nicholas Boshier (Soul Mates).

Blake Northfield (STREAMLINE) produced alongside Tristan Roache-Turner, and Todd Brown and Maxime Cottray executive produced for XYZ Films.

XYZ is releasing the follow-up on VOD platforms April 14 before arriving on DVD & Blu-ray May 17th.
