The Moon Knight trailer is finally here, and I have to say I haven’t been this excited for a Disney+ series since The Mandalorian.
My future husband Oscar Isaac plays a character named Steven Grant, who halfway through the trailer discovers his real name is Mark Spector, who happens to suffer from dissociative identity disorder. Steven happens to be one of his many personalities, and has no idea of his superhero alter ego Moon Knight.
According to Variety, Umbrella Academy’s Jeremy Slater will serve as head writer, with Mohamed Diab, the filmmaker behind the Cannes drama Clash, directing the six-episode series along with Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead. Ethan Hawke is playing the villain, which he modeled after David Koresh, the lead of the Branch Davidians who died in the Waco siege of 1993.
Here’s a synopsis of the show:
“The series follows Steven Grant, a mild-mannered gift-shop employee, who becomes plagued with blackouts and memories of another life. Steven discovers he has dissociative identity disorder and shares a body with mercenary Marc Spector. As Steven/Marc’s enemies converge upon them, they must navigate their complex identities while thrust into a deadly mystery among the powerful gods of Egypt.”
Moon Knight premieres on Disney+ on March 30.
