A few weeks ago we got a little taste of the Hulu series Love, Victor, which is a spin-off of the hit film Love, Simon. Now the full trailer has emerged and I must say I’m pretty excited to check out this show.
The new series follows Victor (Michael Cimino), a new student at Creekwood High School on his own journey toward self-discovery as he adjusts to a new city and explores his sexuality against the backdrop of challenges he faces at home.
After watching the trailer I’m still trying to figure out why Disney+ dropped the series, when quiet as it’s kept their service is solely surviving off the success of The Mandalorian. Their loss is Hulu‘s gain, since the latter streaming service has been dropping some pretty good original shows (Ramy and Little Fires Everywhere being prime examples).
The series also stars Ana Ortiz (Whiskey Cavalier, Ugly Betty), James Martinez (One Day at a Time), Isabella Ferreira (Orange is the New Black), Mateo Fernandez, Rachel Naomi Hilson (This Is Us), Bebe Wood (The Real O’Neal’s, The New Normal), George Sear (Will, Into the Badlands), Anthony Turpel (The Bold and the Beautiful), Mason Gooding (Booksmart) and also features a cameo from Katya (RuPaul’s Drag Race).
The series will premiere with all 10 episodes on June 19, only on Hulu.
