Rumors are swirling that Christopher Nolan’s new movie, set for release in July of 2026, and starring Matt Damon and Tom Holland is a vampire flick, but that actually might not be true, but what may be true is it could be a horror film.

Plot details for the project remain under wraps but it is rumoured to be a period horror about vampires in the 1920s, according to Discussing Film.
Upon hearing the rumours, Holland’s fanbase have been getting hyped about the actor’s potential involvement. One fan wrote: “HOLY SHITTTTT ITS GONNA BE PEAK.”
Another added: “You sold me at Christoper Nolan and Vampires. Anything else is just extra at that point.” Someone else said: “This will be a cinematic banger!”
Nolan is returning to Universal for the movie after turning down the chance to return to Warner Bros. despite being offered a seven-figure cheque.
The director was with the latter from 2002’s Insomnia right up until the release of Tenet in 2020.
Their partnership included The Dark Knight trilogy, Dunkirk and Inception, while Warner Bros. handled the international release of The Prestige and Interstellar.
His decision to switch to Universal came after the director criticised Warner Bros. over their plans to release their 2021 film slate simultaneously on streaming service HBO Max.
Meanwhile, Holland recently revealed that he and Zendaya read a draft of the Spider-Man 4 script.
The actor is set to reprise his role as the titular character, which he has played since 2016’s Captain American: Civil War, in the movie. The next sequel in the series is aiming for a 2026 release.
He said: “It really lit a fire in me. Zendaya and I sat down and read it together, and we at times were bouncing around the living room like, ‘This is a real movie worthy of the fans’ respect.’ But there’s a few things we need to figure out before we can get that really going, but it’s exciting.”
Last month, it was reported that Destin Daniel Cretton has been in talks to direct Spider-Man 4, taking over from Jon Watts, who directed the first three Spider-Man movies in the reboot.
In 2023, Holland said he was open to reprising the role of Spider-Man if the storyline does “justice to the character,” which he admitted he felt “very protective over”. And in April, the actor confirmed that he’d definitely be returning.
