With #VERZUZ becoming a huge internet phenomenon, fans haven’t shied away from giving their opinion on who should go head to head on the popular Instagram Live series. Fans were disappointed over Memorial Day Weekend when Jagged Edge suffered from audio issues in regards to their online battle against 112. (Buju Banton and Beanie Man gave a far more entertaining match)
Looking to the ladies to save the day, a TLC fan took to social media to suggest a battle between the duo, SWV or Xscape, to which singer T-Boz revealed that she’s down for a music battle.
TLC, SWV and Xscape played a pivotal role in 90s R&B music, and it’s unfortunate that during VH1’s Hip Hop Honors in 2017 that they flat out ignored the legacies of TLC and SWV, and didn’t include the ladies when paying homage to what they perceived to be 90s game changers.
I grew up listening to TLC and SWV (Xscape not so much), and personally I think TLC would be a better match with Destiny’s Child (although we all know Beyonce won’t do it), but since we’re being realistic here, I think a better and entertaining match that would happen would be between TLC and SWV.
