TLC's T-Boz Considering Retirement After Recent Health Scare: “I’m Not Going to Kill Myself Doing This”

Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins, who was recently hospitalized for a severe intestinal blockage sat down for an interview with The Breakfast Club and revealed why she had to recently cancel a number of TLC concerts, gave fans an update on her health, and even weighed in on possibly retiring from the music industry.

Here is a taste of what she told Charlamagne Tha God, DJ Envy, and guest host Loren LoRosa:

“Touring is hard! You ain’t have to have a disease to take a break or get an injury. It’s hard out here. my dancers be broke down at 20. Things are getting harder.

That’s why I’m gearing up to retire (from touring). Probab;y next year will be my last tour. So, if y’all wanna come and see TLC, I suggest you do it now because I’m not going to be doing this much longer. I am 54, but I’m blessed. I was told I wouldn’t live past 30. I’m 54 still on stage, selling out arenas and stadiums, traveling the world. This is like a dream and something that I prayed for and God gave it to me. So, when God and my body say it’s time to stop, then I will stop. I ain’t crazy I’m not going to kill myself doing this!”

With her battle with sickle cell, and a recent intestinal blockage, it might be time for T-Boz to hang it up, and for Chilli to find herself a new hobby. Your health is way more important than you killing yourself on a grueling tour.
