Has Bad Bunny fallen out of favor with his hardcore Latin fan base?
The popular Puerto Rican rapper just kicked off his 2024 Most Wanted tour in Salt Lake City, Utah, and while he performs a whopping 37 songs, it seems that he's having a hard time selling tickets to his expensive show.
Now back in 2023 when he first announced the tour, he was immediately met with backlash from fans over ticket prices, with some tickets starting at $800.
Now that the tour has kicked off, word on the curb is that there are thousands of tickets that have gone unsold, and hours before the tour kicked of in SLC, Bad Bunny ticket prices dropped as low as $196.
You can also find tickets as low as $39 before fees on Vivid Seats. All other venues have seats starting anywhere from $54 to $269 before fees.
If you are in New York (like I am), he'll be performing three nights straight at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on Thursday, April 11, Friday, April 12 and Saturday, April 13.
I love me some Benito, but he's not at the point in his career where he should even been commanding those kind of ticket prices. I loved Un Verano Sin Ti, and based on the footage I've seen online of that tour it looked incredible.
However he's no Madonna or Beyonce where's he's putting on an intricate stage show with lots of dancers, moving set pieces, and where state of the art props are included.
Yes as a rapper he's incorporated background dancers and cute props for his stage shows. I just feel Bad Bunny is not at the level of these major artists to be charging so much for a minimal stage design.
I think what's also hurting him with this era is that his latest album Nadie Sabe Lo Que Va a Pasar Mañana ( which translates to: 'Nobody Knows What Is Going to Happen Tomorrow') is his weakest body of work to date.
He should have taken that long hiatus after his last album instead of dropping new music. I also think his "relationship" with Kendall Jenner (I'm hearing rumors they're actually not broken up) hurt him with his female fanbase.
I'm not saying Benito can't have girlfriends, because he's had plenty of those throughout his career. Women (and some of the gays) just didn't want to see him with any of those KarJenner succubus pit vipers knowing their relationship with high profile men.
Another factor that may be a case of argument is that he's overexposed. I hope after he wraps this tour he disappears for a while, go live life a bit, and come back inspired to the point that we can forget the mid tracks he served us with this latest album.
