On Monday's episode of The View, co-hosts Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar were noticeably absent from the panel, to which Sara Haines ended up filling in the moderator seat.
However fans of the long running talk show were not happy with producers choosing her to moderate the show, wondering why didn't they choose Sunny Hostin, who has been a co-host for over five years.
Fans took took to social media to let their frustration known.
“I always wondered who was next in line to moderate in the absence of Whoopi and Joy. I didn’t think Sara had seniority after having left and returned,” one wrote on Twitter. “I def thought Sunny would moderate [especially] with all of her previous TV experience.”
Another said, “Thought about when Paula Faris moderated, which was is rare if Whoopi or Joy aren’t moderating! Just sayin.'”
“It should’ve been [Sunny],” one viewer pointed out, while someone else said, “Sara needs to practice her segues more. The way she just cut Sunny… Whoopi would never.”
Another asked, “Wait… where the hell is Whoopi ? Oh Whoopi AND Joy are out today? What’s that about? I don’t want no damn Sara moderating.”
“Sara moderating today? What is this hunny,” one posted, while another said, “Not Sara moderating. I’d feel a lil shade if I were Sunny.”
Another viewer noted, “The View needs either Joy &/or Whoopi. They have gravitas. The others are more predictable & ‘young.’ Ironic that others are earnest & serious but not entertaining.
Seems like sarcasm & grumpiness livens up the show. Whoopi & Joy-one must always be there!”
Fingers crossed we’ll get one — or even both — back in their seats tomorrow!
