TEASER TRAILER TRASH: HALLOWEEN KILLS

Blumhouse has unleashed the second teaser trailer for Halloween Kills, the highly anticipated sequel to the 2018 hit horror film, and as someone who is a huge fan of this franchise I got goosebumps after watching this teaser.

Director/co-writer David Gordon Green, Halloween franchise producer Malek Akkad, scream queen Jamie Lee Curtis, producer Bill Block, and Jason Blum all took part in the virtual BlumFest panel.

Gordon Green promised “twice the thrills and ten times the kills” during today’s panel, and this new 36-second look at the film does indeed tease that we may be getting quite the body count. It also gives us our first clear look at Michael Myers in the movie, his mask melted and burnt in the wake of the 2018 movie’s fiery final act, along with a tease of Tommy Doyle’s return to the series.

Halloween Kills” picks up following the events of 2018’s “Halloween,” which saw Laurie dealing with 40 years of PTSD after surviving Michael Myers’ original murder spree. “Halloween,” the 11th movie in the franchise, and a reimagined sequel to the 1978 original was a huge box office hit in 2018, earning $255 million globally and solidifying its place as the highest-grossing installment in the franchise. The movie also ranks as the highest-grossing slasher film. The Halloween franchise has collectively generated $640 million in worldwide ticket sales.

David Gordon Green returns to direct “Halloween Kills,” having previously directed “Halloween.” Nick Castle is returning as Michael Myers, while Judy Greer, Andi Matichak, Kyle Richards, Nancy Stephens and Charles Cyphers are reprising their roles as Karen Strode, Allyson Nelson, Lindsay Wallace, nurse Marion Chambers and Sheriff Leigh Brackett. Anthony Michael Hall and Robert Longstreet are joining the cast as Tommy Doyle and Lonnie Elam.

Green wrote the script with Danny McBride ad Scott Teems.

Halloween Kills was supposed to come out last weekend, but due to COVID 19 preventing people from going to the theater in certain marketable states (like NYC and LA), it’s been pushed to October 15, 2021. Halloween Ends, the final chapter in Gordon-Green’s Halloween trilogy slices it’s way into theaters on October 14th, 2022.
