Screambox has unleashed the teaser trailer for Damien Leone's Terrifier 3, and Art the clown is back to ruin your Christmas holiday.
The trailer features a little girl getting out of bed and going downstairs to see what looks like Santa Claus putting presents under the tree.
The second she shouts "Santa" is when Art the clown raises his head from putting presents under the tree. He then grabs an ax off the floor and silently chuckles menacingly into the camera.
As for Terrifier 3, Leone previews: “We’re going to have a bigger budget. We’re shooting in anamorphic widescreen, so I want it to feel more like an old-school John Carpenter movie. It’s going to still have that epic feel of part two, but now have the tone of part one with Christmas. It’s going to be a completely different beast. It’s going to look different. It’s going to feel different, but it’s still going to have everything you love in it. But it’s going to be very fresh. It’s not going to be like you’re sitting through part one or two all over again.”
I know some people are bothered by the teaser showing the possibility that he murdered the little girl, and her parents off screen, but why is anyone surprised if kids are killed in the film? Damien killed kids in All Hollow's Eve and teens were brutally murdered in the first two Terrifier films.
Based on his work Damien seems the type of director who doesn't shy away from taboos in horror films, where anyone can get got by Art.
Personally speaking I'm not a fan of seeing children getting slaughtered in horror movies. However, I'm not going to tell people not to put something in their film, or go on social media to tell people they're disgusting if they support films like this.
Terrifier 3 slices and dices it's way into theaters on October 25, 2024.
