RuPaul Reveals Which Drag Race Queen He Would Have Double-Crowned

RuPaul finally admitted what us Drag Race fans have been saying for years.

While appearing on Watch What Happens Live earlier this week, Andy Cohen asked Mamaru “Which second runner-up queen would you have crowned as a double winner if you had the chance? Is there someone who didn’t win Drag Race over all the seasons, that in your mind, you thought that one [could have won]?”

Almost immediately, the mother of all drag queens ruvealed: “Shangela! Shangela. She’s amazing. We’ve actually put her on the show, like, three times? Something like that. She’s a fabulous queen.”

Shangela has been a fan favorite since appearing during the second season of Drag Race, to which she was the first queen to sashay away. She was brought back for season three, and came in sixth place.

She would then go on to compete on All Stars 3, and we all thought she had it in the bag to win. However, the show decided to turn Drag Race into Survivor and let the bitter eliminated queens decide who would be the final two queens to battle it out for the crown (Kennedy Davenport and Trixie Mattel would end up in the finale with Trixie winning).

To call it the biggest upset in Drag Race herstory would be an understatement. But don't cry for Miss Shangela, Argentina. Her career is just fine.

In addition to co-starring in and producing We're Here over on HBO Max with Bob The Drag Queen and Eureka, and appearing in A Star Is Born with Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper, she recently appeared on Dancing With The Stars, where she placed fourth.
