Nicole Kidman and Salma Hayek Exchange Words on Video at Balenciaga Show

Nicole Kidman and Salma Hayek exchanged words and put hands on each other at the Balenciaga show in France last month, according to a new video.

The pair of actresses were caught in an awkward moment at the Balenciaga show during Paris Fashion Week which saw Nicole walk off as pal Katy Perry watched on. Nicole, 57, and Salma, 58 were standing in front of the photographers along with Katy when the altercation emerged.

A video of the moment has gone viral which shows the three ladies on September 30 in the French capital. It appears as though Salma is trying to get Nicole to turn around to face the cameras as she used her arm to move her.

However, Nicole didn't seem best pleased as she appeared to swat her hand away. As she pushed her hand away, Nicole turned her back before moving to face Salma again and put her hand up signalling to stop and pointed her finger.

Nicole turned to Katy and kissed her goodbye before walking away and looking to speak to Salma even more. As she walked away, it looked as though Salma said "Yes please - advice" while Nicole replied "You don’t need it" and Hayek said "I do".

Onlookers witnessed the moment and many have said they could sense the tension. One person reportedly claimed that Nicole told Salma: "Don't touch me." They also said that Katy was "embarrassed" in the moment, with another person there saying: "Oh god, you could cut the tension with a knife."

Fans took to social media to talk about the tense situation. One said: "I get that Salma was probably trying to direct her to pose for the cameras, but some people don’t like to be touched regardless of the situation, and you just gotta respect that," while another added: "Why is Nicole being so rude?"

Despite the awkward run in, Salma took to her Instagram page a few days later which an array of images from the event. One of them even featured Nicole but neither of them were smiling. Hayek captioned the photos: "Finally last night the grand finale of my Paris Fashion Week 2025… Balenciaga and Demna for a terrific show."

Salma looked stunning in the photos as she wore a floor length black gown which a matching black jacket on top which featured a hood. She went for matching black heels and a clutch bag but finished off the look with an out there head piece which resembled a bow.

Meanwhile, Nicole wore a black high-neck bodycon dress with tights and heels. She also wore sunglasses while watching the fashion show.

A source with direct knowledge did tell TMZ that there's no beef between the women -- the clip takes place after the show ended and Nicole Kidman was on her way out. However, based on the video I feel there was miscommunication regarding the ladies in regards to the chaos surrounding them taking a photo.

UK-based expert witness and forensic lip reader Jeremy Freeman revealed exclusively to Page Six what he believes was said between the ladies.

“Let’s turn here,” Kidman is believed to have said to Hayek.

Per Freeman, the “Big Little Lies” star then responded, “Hey, I’m fine, I’m good. There, it’s enough, it’s OK.”

Hayek then interjected, beginning to say, “We have to….,” before putting her arm around Perry, 39.

Freeman told Page Six that Hayek then said, “That’s fine, that’s fine,” and directed Perry — who was wearing sunglasses — to look at the photographers.

The photogs wanted more photos, and Salma was trying to inform Nicole what was going on, but based on Nicole's body language she seemed like her social battery was running on empty, and she was over all the paparazzi harassing her for so many pictures.

When you're running around from show to show, it can be pretty exhausting.

So whether or not there was miscommunication on both ends, Nicole better tread lightly, or she'll be regulated to wearing Shein outfits for her next couple of fashion shows (for those not in the know, Salma is married to François-Henri Pinault, the CEO of Balenciaga parent company Kering).

Nicole was named brand ambassador of Balenciaga in 2023. Kering also owns Gucci and YSL, to name a few other fashion houses.
