The rapper and reality TV star was spotted during Nicki Minaj’s Gag City Reloaded tour stop in Miami. “I’m proud no cap… a lot of yalll will never understand but there is no malice in me… I’m proud” the father of two tweeted following the show.
In videos posted to social media, people caught Minaj's ex in the crowd rapping along to her songs with some Barbz during the show. However, he appeared to dip out early after Minaj appeared to address those who broke her heart in the past.
"You ever had your heart broken," she said with Safaree in the crowd. "And did you cry all day and you didn't wanna get out of bed and you couldn't eat and you thought that life was over? And then one day you woke up and you realized you're way better off without that moron?"
Nicki Minaj and Safaree dated for over a decade from 2003 to 2014. The couple broke up before she dropped her third studio album The Pinkprint, which reportedly has songs inspired by their relationship. A year later, she began dating Meek Mill. Safaree also moved on and eventually joined the "Love & Hip-Hop" franchise where he met his ex's Erica Mena and Amara La Negra. Despite their messy past, Safaree reassured fans no bad blood exists between them, at least in his opinion.
Fans seemingly took to social media to respond to Safaree turning up at the Pink Friday 2 concert.
“I always tell ppl he is the original OG barb! He was the first barb to ever barb!!” reacted one fan. “Some people can’t even get that level of support from phony family members. I’m here for it Life is too short to be a pressed hater..” commented another.
During a previous appearance on the We In Miami Podcast, the rapper-was asked about the biggest obstacle he’s faced since their split he replied: “I was with Nicki, we broke up. So her fans and certain people wanted it to be like, ‘okay, they’re not together anymore… f*** him. Let him be nothing, let him disintegrate, let him disappear.”
He continued: “I had two of the biggest people in the world against me,” seemingly referring to the “FTCU” rapper and her then-boyfriend, Meek Mill. “That made everybody be against me. Nobody wanted to be next to me. Nobody wanted to work with me. It just made everything hard. That was a dark time for me.”
“10 years later, 10-15 TV shows later… I’m still here. Some people don’t like that,” he added.
