Here’s a story I never saw coming. The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that seven years after the series finale, Showtime is bringing back Dexter for a limited run.
And before you get your tits in a twist over yet another revival, Michael C Hall is returning to play the beloved anti hero.
Clyde Phillips is also coming back as the series showrunner.
THR notes, “The show will be a continuation of the original series, which ended with Hall’s Dexter Morgan going on self-imposed exile as a lumberjack and living a solitary life.”
“Dexter is such a special series, both for its millions of fans and for Showtime, as this breakthrough show helped put our network on the map many years ago,” Showtime Entertainment president Gary Levine said in a statement. “We would only revisit this unique character if we could find a creative take that was truly worthy of the brilliant, original series. Well, I am happy to report that Clyde Phillips and Michael C. Hall have found it, and we can’t wait to shoot it and show it to the world.”
The limited series, which has been given a 10-episode order is set to premiere in Fall, 2021.

I was a huge fan of the Dexter, but like my feeling about the last season of Game of Thrones my feelings about how they wrapped things up were a bit mixed. While I wasn’t very fond of Dexter’s final episode, I am curious to visit that world and see what our serial killer who only killed serial killers has been up to
