Marvel's Blade has faced numerous setbacks and delays, but Mia Goth has assured fans that "care" is being taken to "make a great movie."

Original Blade star Wesley Snipes might be poking fun at the delay of Marvel Studios’ reboot of the vampire slayer franchise, however, for Mia Goth, who stars in the upcoming version, good things come to those who wait.
Recently the movie, which is still scheduled for a Nov. 7, 2025 theatrical release per the ComScore calendar, saw its second director, Yann Demange, exit. He followed Bassam Tariq’s departure, who was previously set to helm for a fall 2022 production start (he remains aboard as EP).
Speaking to Deadline at the world premiere of her latest A24 movie MaXXXine, Goth said that in regards to the Blade delays, those behind the movie “really care, they do. They want to make a great movie. That’s the sense that I get from them and that feels good.”
Goth will reportedly make her MCU debut as Lilith in Blade, a charater who is known in the comics as a key supernatural villain. Lilith tries to take the blood from Blade’s daughter.
Blade had further delays last year due to the WGA strike. Eric Pearson (Agent Carter, Thor: Ragnarok, Black Widow) is writing the script.
In MaXXXine, which opens on July 5, Goth reprises one of her two roles in X. The pic, which she co-wrote with director Ti West, follows Maxine (Goth), after the events of X, as the sole survivor who continues her journey toward fame, setting out to make it as an actress in 1980s Los Angeles.
Maybe the reason why us Marvel fans are extra hard on the MCU right now because we've been spoiled with so many great films out of the first three phases. As we move into phase five (after a shaky phase 4), I'm pretty optimistic that they can get it together in regards to story.+*
I'm just curious as to how they are going to introduce vampires into the MCU.
This year makes 20 years since Blade Trinity, so it's time we get the ball rolling on a new Blade movie.
I definitely want to see Mia as Lillith, but also as a Blade fan, with all the delays, Mahershala isn't getting any younger.
I'd rather they take their time and deliver a good vampire action film, then give us an uninspired superhero film with a crappy script (Madame Web, Ant Man & The Wasp: Quantumania, Morbius, and The Marvels, to name a few).
