Whenever people think of Blade, those of us who grew up loving the films will always solidify Wesley Snipes as someone who brought the comic book character to life. As a fan of the movies, I absolutely loved the first two films, but despise the third.
So a year ago when Mahershala Ali was announced as the actor who would be playing the daywalker at San Diego Comic Con, I wasn’t mad at Kevin Feige’s choice, since Ali (who is a huge fan of Blade) is a phenomenal actor, and I just sense he will bring something different to the character whenever the reboot gets to shooting.
When Ali took to Instagram to share with his fans an illustration of himself as Blade, I immediately got goosebumps. Knowing the MCU‘s attachment to Disney, I am curious as to what the tone for the upcoming reboot will be, since the previous trilogy, which was attached to New Line Cinema was rated R. We also have no idea who’s directing or writing the script. I’ve wanted a new Blade film for quite sometime, and hopefully once we get a grip on Ms Rona, cameras will start rolling on Blade sooner rather than later.
