If you have followed queen of pop Madonna’s career, then you know that for the past four decades she has never shied away from politics.
With the current political drama surrounding the Ukraine, the singer, who has made it quite known of her disdain for dictator Vladimir Putin, has released a remix to her hit single Sorry, which is off of one of my favorite Madonna albums Confessions on a Dance Floor.
Showing her support for the Ukraine after Russia’s unnecessary invasion, she wrote:
“Russia’s Pointless and Greed Driven Invasion Of the Ukraine MUST be stopped!! Please Send in Humanitarian Aid to help millions of citizens of the Ukraine who’s lives are being affected by this CRISIS at this very moment !!”
“Putin has Violated Every Human Rights Accord in Existence. Putin has no right to try to erase the existence of the Ukraine. We support you President Zelensky!! We are praying for you and your country! 🙏🏼. God Bless You All!”
I’ve heard rumblings that Madonna may scrap her upcoming return to making pop music in favor of releasing a political record, but I hope that’s not true.
I love her underrated American Life album, and most recently Madame X. If you want to have a few songs on the new album that touches on political world issues, that’s fine. I don’t even mind when she includes political commentary in her concerts.
However as a huge Madonna fan I’m not in the mood for a full-length preachy political record, so as Instated earlier I hope this is a rumor.
