The queen of pop is back, and ready to reclaim her throne after the disaster that was Madame X.
Back in September, Madonna posted an Instagram carousel showing her in the studio with Stuart Price.
No further details were unleashed by the queen, but fans began speculating that she was working on a new album, or audio pick-ups for the Celebration Tour DVD release (which we're still impatiently waiting for, BTW). I beleved it was a new album because there was no equipment in the studio that lent itself to the belief that she was working on the Celebration tour.
So moments ago, the pop music icon took to her Instagram to announce that she has in fact been in the studio working on her 15th studio album, and has reunited with Price, who produced the brilliant Confessions on a Dance Floor.
Fans rejoiced in the comments section, with one declaring they now had 'something to look forward to' in the new year.
'THIS IS WHAT THE WORLD NEEDS!' another posted.
'This is the Christmas present I wanted!!! Don’t try to be trendy, just follow your instincts. That’s always when you create your best work. I can’t wait to hear new music!!!' another gushed.
'OMG the Queen is back with the best!!!' another posted.
It's been nearly 20 years since Price and Madonna joined forces on the singer's hit 2005 album, Confessions on a Dance Floor.
Her caption "songwriting and making music is the one area where I don't need to ask anyone for their permission" seems like a dig at the film industry, who, according to her have been giving her a hard time with the development of her biopic the way she wants to do it.

Last month, the Like A Virgin singer took to social media to vent her frustration about having spent four years on the project yet still has nothing to show for it.
The performer even asked fans for their help on what route she should take, hinting that she's been told the film could work better as a TV series, given there is so much ground to cover from her four-decade long career.
'After struggling for days in LA, listening to producers and agents tell me why I couldn't make my film,' she began, sparking fears the project has been shelved.
'I realized that everything in my life is going to be challenged. No easy rides for me. I guess I should be grateful.
'It forces me to think outside the box. I did not have a normal life. I cannot make this in the normal way.'
Madonna also seemed to reveal that producers have told her to try and do the film on a smaller scale, which she did not appreciate.
She continued: 'Spending time with my creative friends was just the fuel I needed to keep going! We all agreed that we need to be even more fearless!!!'
The Material Girl finished her post by asking: 'Should I make the story of my life into a series or a feature Film.'
The hitmaker - who will reportedly be played by Julia Garner in the film - had resumed work on the script earlier this year.

As for M14, while I got what she was trying to accomplish with Madame X artistically and sonically, it wasn't my favorite era from her, and don't get me started on the disaster that was the tour.
She managed to redeem herself with the Celebration tour, and fans have been clamoring for M to get back in the stu with Stu to give us another dance record.
Personally speaking I don't want another retread of COADF, but I do think she should give us another dance album, but push the genre into another direction rather than follow what everyone else is doing sonically.
