Madonna may be knee deep into the European leg of her Celebration tour, but word on the street is that the pop music icon may be heading Glastonbury in 2024.
According to the Daily Mail, Madonna, Dua Lipa and Coldplay will all appear on the world-famous Pyramid Stage, with the Vogue singer closing the music festival on Sunday night.
Dua Lipa will be Friday’s top act, and Coldplay will headline Saturday's show. Organizers are said to be over the moon with the line-up, which will be the first time that two female artists have headlined in Glastonbury’s history.
I also started hearing rumors that the festival is looking to book Taylor Swift as well, which would make it the first Glastonbury to feature women as their weekend headliners. However, I personally think the current line up works.
Tickets for the event are set to go on sale in two weeks.
Fans have been speculating if Madonna could headline Glastonbury last year when the festival's co-organizer Emily Eavis shared an image from the London stop of her "Celebration Tour.
Also in a recent episode of Annie Macmanus and Nick Grimshaw’s podcast Sidetracked, Glastonbury, Eavis spoke about the progress the team has made in putting the bill together.
“2024 is still a little up in the air. I thought it was kind of taking shape and then last week I just got a call, and this is what happens if you wait a little longer, because quite often we’ll be booked up from July,” she began.
Since the North American leg of her tour ends in April, it leaves Madonna a few weeks to put a two hour show together for Glastonbury. Let's just hope Madonna can get her butt on stage and perform on time.
