After achieving worldwide success with Padam Padam, her 16th studio album Tension, winning her second Grammy and a successful Las Vegas residency, it looks like Kylie Minogue is back in the studio working on new music.
Word on the street is that the international princess of pop is working on a deluxe edition of ‘Tension’ - as well as a brand new dance record.
“Kylie has made it clear to her team this is no time to slow down,” insiders tell The Sun’s Bizarre column. “Plans are already in motion for the next two albums, one of which will be a repackage of ‘Tension’ with additional songs.
“As for the direction of album 17 — Kylie wants to release a full-on dance album.
Kylie went into the studio in California with chart-topping British DJ Joel Corry early last month to work on her dance-inspired new songs.
And in an exclusive chat before their sessions, Joel revealed that he couldn’t wait to get started.
He said: “Kylie absolutely smashed it last year.
"She has taken over the charts.
“I’ve loved the sound of the singles.
As for when we can get a taste of what Kylie's been working on, “The plan is to release the Tension repackage towards the end of the year, with probably up to five new tracks.”
In regards to what she and Joel have been working on, he says: “They sound really fresh and current. She is pop royalty. It would be an honour to work with her.”
While I did love some of the tracks on Tension, I was expecting more euphoric dance tracks like Padam Padam, Hold On To Now, and Vegas High. Here's hoping there's a bit more cohesion not only with the repackaged version of Tension, but with abum #17 as well.
She's finally cracked the code and is achieving long-overdue success in the US, so I agree strike while the iron is still scorching hot, because American fanbases are fickle.
