Katy Perry Reconnected With ‘Teenage Dream’ Producers Dr. Luke, Max Martin for KP6

After albums Witness and Smile failed to ignite the same level of pop success she received from albums such as Teenage Dream and Prism, Katy Perry has recruited music superproducers Dr Luke and Max Martin to help carve out her upcoming sixth album.

FOR HER UPCOMING sixth album, Katy Perry worked with some of the producers who helped craft hits on Teenage Dream and Prism, Rolling Stone has learned. The pop singer reconnected with Max Martin, Dr. Luke, Stargate, and several others for KP6, the informal name for her first album in more than four years.

“Katy knew exactly the album she wanted to make and put together the team to make it happen,” a Capitol Records source confirms to Rolling Stone. “And that includes previous collaborators including Luke, Stargate, Max Martin, and Sarah Hudson, and some new heavy hitters such as Vaughn Oliver (Kim Petras), Rocco Valdes (Kim Petras), and Theron Thomas (Doja Cat).”

Some of the fans took to Twitter and gave their thoughts on her upcoming album, including criticizing her for collaborating with Dr Luke, who has been accused by singer Kesha of sexual assault.

Not all the comments were filled with doom and gloom. Some that I'm assuming are KatyKats are excited for KP6.

Because I'm in media I'll give the album a gander once it's released. However, I get that Katy is in desperate need of a hit because her last couple of albums were a flop, but knowing Dr. Luke's alleged reputation I think recruiting him for your comeback album is a big PR mistake.
