Jussie Smollett is set to direct a new film with longtime supporter Vivica A Fox as the Empire alum appeals his conviction for allegedly lying to police about being assaulted in Chicago.
Smollett, who made his directorial debut back in 2021 with B Boy Blues, was spotted on set in Orange County directing Vivica in a scene.
Should Smollett lose the appeal, the actor/director will spend 5 months behind bars. The appeal has been continued 5 times, and the court said no more ... the hearing is set for December.
Jussie spent a week behind bars in March 2022, but he was released from jail pending the appeal.
Say what you want about Jussie, but I believe whatever it is that people are going through in their personal lives they should be allowed to support themselves financially.
