While Jennifer Lopez only made a FaceTime appearance for the girls during Drag Race season 14, the pop icon more than made up for it by recruiting some of your favorite Drag Race queens as she performed a medley of her hits at the iHeartRadio Music Awards last night.
The triple threat, 52, who also won the Icon award had this to say while her boo thang Ben Affleck and her kids looked on:
“I appreciate this so much, so very, very much,” Lopez said in her acceptance speech. “I wish I could tell you that awards were the most important to me, but that’s not true. And don’t think that I don’t appreciate the shiny, sparkly things, because I do! I cannot lie, everybody knows that I do. But this isn’t why I do this. It’s not what matters most to me. I really do it for you guys.”
Queens in attendance included Kerri Colby (who wore Lopez’s iconic green Versace dress that she also wore during the “Night of a Thousand JLos” runway on season 14), Jorgeous, April Carrion, Laganja Estranja, Naysha Lopez, Kimora Blac, Alyssa Hunter, Mariah Balenciaga, and many more.
JLo also recruited Emmy and Tony winner Billy Porter to opening performance, channeling his iconic Pray Tell character from Pose with Tens.
Here’s hoping that instead of having a bunch of drag queens prance around on the stage on yet another tired award show innher most iconic looks, that JLo can actually make an appearance on Drag Race next season where the queens can do an entire segment in La Lopez’s iconic fashions.
