Jennifer Lopez and her “Atlas” co-star Simu Liu shut down a reporter during a press junket in Mexico City for their new Netflix action movie after he asked Lopez if rumors are true she’s getting divorced from Ben Affleck. Rumors circulating online that Lopez and Affleck are ending their marriage have coincided with Lopez’s “Atlas” press tour, which included starry premieres in Los Angeles and Mexico.

“OK, we’re not doing that,” Liu immediately told the reporter who asked about Affleck (via NBC News). “Thank you so much. We really appreciate it … come on, don’t come in here with that energy.

Lopez was even more blunt, telling the reporter: “You know better than that.”

Liu later heaped praise on Lopez, who both stars in and produced “Atlas.” Directed by “Rampage” and “San Andreas” filmmaker Brad Peyton, “Atlas” stars Lopez as a brilliant data analyst with a deep distrust of artificial intelligence. She joins a mission to capture a renegade robot with whom she shares a mysterious past, but plans quickly go awry and she’s forced to befriend an AI robot if she wants to survive and save humanity. The supporting cast includes Liu, Sterling K. Brown, Gregory James Cohan, Abraham Popoola, Lana Parrilla and Mark Strong.

“If I can just end on one thing,” Liu told press at the junket. “Jen is a producer on this movie and the reason why I am here and the reason Sterling is in this beautiful movie is because Jen cares. Jen cares about things like representation and diversity. Jen is a boss.”

“Atlas” streams May 24 on Netflix.

That's great and all that Jen is a boss, and because of her, Simu has job instead of sitting at home waiting for Marvel to call him to do Shang Chi 2.

However, should you be given grace for your marriage allegedly failing when earlier this year you used your personal life to sell an album/documentary/Prime Video musical/sort-of biopic?
