After being plagued with allegations of racial tone-deafness and behind-the-scenes funny business in the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, the 80th annual awards show officially revealed the list of nominees.
Announced this morning by Lopez vs Lopez stars Selenis Leyva and Mayan Lopez, the Golden Globes have now diversified their voting pool (which The Hollywood Reporter revealed had no black voters) to 52% female, 19.5% Latinx, 12% Asian, 10% Black and 10% Middle Eastern.
Last year’s awards were presented in a small-scale event with no live stream or telecast.
The Jerrod Carmichael-hosted ceremony is set to air Tuesday, Jan. 10 on NBC and Peacock.
