Real Housewives of Potomac star Gizelle Bryant has been called a 'Karen' on social media for telling two Spanish-speaking Housewives Alexia Nepola and Marysol Patton not to speak Spanish around her on the “Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip.”

On the Season 3 premiere of the show, which aired Thursday night, while the “Real Housewives of Miami” stars were having a conversation, Bryant, 52, told them that she has a rule, “No Spanish.”
Later in the episode, the “Real Housewives of Potomac” star called Patton, 56, and Nepola, 55, out again while they were speaking Spanish during the group dinner.
The ladies told Bryant that they speak “Spanglish” in Miami and don’t even realize that when they are doing it.
“I just don’t want to feel left out,” Bryant replied.
Page Six has reached out to Patton and Nepola’s reps for comment but did not immediately hear back.
Viewers of the show took to social media to express that they were not happy with Bryant’s comments to Patton and Nepola.
“‘I HAVE A RULE, NO SPANISH’ @GizelleBryant #RHUGT3 If that is not the most KAREN thing to say! Please think about your narrow minded silly words before you have an entire Culture against you! #LatinX #Triggered @Andy where’s the cancel button #WWHL,” one critic tweeted.
“It’s a bit disturbing that @GizelleBryant would try to hush #Marysol & #Alexia for speaking their Native tongue, Spanish. Does she not know her own history of bigotry?! For SHAME!! #RHUGT3 #RHOP,” added another upset viewer.
“Sooo Gizelle Bryant from RHWOP GETS ON MY NERVE TELLING PPL NOT TO TALK SPANISH GTFOH !!!” wrote a third person.
“Oh no no @GizelleBryant you DO NOT TELL people not to speak Spanish. Do you know how Latinos have been discriminated against for centuries and here you are doing it too? Girl! With your civil rights background I expected more from you. You owe some apologies! #RHOP #RHUGT,” tweeted another fan.
The latest season of “RHUGT” takes place in Thailand with Bryant, Patton, Nepola, Candiace Dillard, Heather Gay, Porsha Williams, Whitney Rose and Leah McSweeney.
New episodes of “The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip” are available to stream on Peacock on Thursdays.
Any other time I can't stand Gizelle's trifling ass. However in the case I'm going to say I get where she's coming from.
While I am all for diversity and inclusion, if everyone on the trip speaks English and there are two women from the same show speaking to each other in a language everyone else doesn't understand, it can be perceived that you're talking negatively about the other women.
This is something that has transpired in real life situations when people assume you don't speak their language and they proceed to talk negatively.
If you're shooting a scene amongst the two of you feel free to speak however you want. However, when you're in a group setting speak English so that way your co-stars won't think you're talking mess.
