After nine years of conquering the New York City real estate market, and spending the last two years on sister series Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles, Fredrik Eklund has announced that he is parting ways with Million Dollar Listing.
“After an amazing 11 years, I’ve decided it’s time for the next chapter in my life, and to leave ‘Million Dollar Listing,’” reads Eklund’s statement. “It’s an end of an era and a new start for me.”
“I let [Bravo’s] Andy [Cohen], the producers and the executives know last week how grateful I am. Eternally grateful, I mean what an incredible run we had together,” the statement continues. “All of my memorable milestones form the last decade I shared with all of you: meeting [my husband] Derek [Kaplan], our wedding, the miscarriages, the birth of our twins and all the beautiful properties. I will always cherish that shared experience.”
Eklund has been with Million Dollar Listing since it’s launch back in 2012. He became a main cast member on Million Dollar Listing season 13 after guest starring on season 12.
He also had his own realtor spinoff alongside Bethenny Frankel called Fredrik & Bethenny. The show lasted one season.
No word on what’s happening with Million Dollar Listing season 10, or who will fill Fredrik’s shoes should they move forward with a new season.
Quiet as it’s kept Fredrik was the only reason why I watched Million Dollar Listing.
His over-the-top personality will definitely be missed.
