Ricky Martin has been known for having a squeaky clean career, but if you believe the latest lawsuit filed against him by his former manager, that's all about to change.

According to Deadline, Martin is being sued by his former talent manager Rebecca Drucker, who claims she saved him from a "potentially career-ending allegation."

The former talent manager issued a warning to the Grammy winner and Emmy nominee: pay up or reap the whirlwind. Specifically, in “excess of USD $3,000,000, or according to proof, and unpaid commissions are accruing on an ongoing basis,” reads a complaint filed Wednesday in Los Angeles Superior Court by Rebeeca Drucker against The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story star.

Rebecca Drucker saved Ricky Martin’s career,” says the often taunting 15-page breach of oral contract suit from the “Livin’ la Vida Loca” singer’s manager from 2014-2018 and 2020-2022. “There is just one problem: Martin completely and maliciously refused to pay Rebecca the millions of dollars in commissions that he owes her under their management agreement.”

The complaint also hints at some past “indiscretions” such as “a particularly ugly incident in Dubai involving Martin and his representative José Vega” in 2018, mentions of tax evasion, substance abuse, and an unspecified “potentially career-ending allegation in September 2020.”

“Rebecca did so not only because she was his manager, but also because she thought that Martin was her dear friend,” the suit, filed by attorneys Joshua M. Rosenberg and Armound Ghoorchian at Venable LLP, says.

“Although Martin’s career flourished since he re-hired Rebecca as his manager in May 2020, she was forced to deal with a litany of Martin’s personal issues, such as problems with the nanny he hired to care for his children, Martin’s nonpayment of taxes, and his substance abuse, among other issues,” the suit alleges.

The jury-seeking suit (read it here) adds that “Martin has now threatened Rebecca and is attempting to force her to sign an agreement with a nondisclosure clause to silence Rebecca about the abhorrent behavior by Martin that she has both witnessed and endured.”

With the recent eye-opening documentary on HBO Max about Menudo (and allegations from former members regarding Ricky receiving special treatment), and these recent allegations, things are not looking good for the Living La Vida Loca singer at the moment.

I'm sure what will most likely happen with this case, is that the singer will settle out of court, because based on the image he has created for himself for the 30+ years he's been in the industry, he's not looking for the messy details to end up on the record and out in the public.
