During his recent appearance on the My Expert Opinion podcast, the Terror Squad frontman opened up about how the couple’s drama has affected him.
“One thing I do know is that my sis never tells me her personal relationship business […] It’s a hard situation because of [Papoose]—she made me love him,” Fat Joe explained. “I really love him. That’s my goddaughter’s father. I’m old-school morals and s**t. With me, it’s like, ‘Damn, I’m the godfather. If these people pass away, I raise the baby.’ I don’t like none of that s**t. What I can’t do is stop it. They won’t listen to me.”
One co-host referenced Fat Joe’s history of being a Hip-Hop mediator, but with Remy and Pap, he admitted that this was a different and more sensitive situation.
“I might’ve mediated beef for a longggggg time, but now that s**t is gone. That s**t off the rocker. It’s a different type of thing when you got a husband. From the first time she ever asked me for advice, I’m like ‘This is your husband.’ Nobody coming to my house tellin’ my wife s**t.’ I can’t get in the middle of that—that’s y’all,” he stated.
As godfather to Remy and Papoose’s 6-year-old daughter, Reminisce Mackenzie, Joe described her as “the best kid in the world.” Later adding, “[She’s] the most beautiful kid in the world. I wish this didn’t happen to her.”
The estranged couple made headlines recently after the “Conceited” rapper accused her longtime partner of cheating with Olympic boxer, Claressa Shields.
After sharing screenshots of alleged text exchanges, Pap responded by saying that Remy “chose to cheat repeatedly,” calling her a “narcissist.”
“Now that I finally moved on, she’s playing the victim. I have requested a divorce numerous times. She rather clout chase on social media than handle this like civilized adults. I did not wanna do the social media foolishness. For the sake of my six-year-old baby. She has to go to school. As you can see I remained quiet through this all,” Pap expressed.
