EXTENDED TRAILER TRASH: SPIRAL: FROM THE BOOK OF SAW

Lionsgate has officially unleashed an extended trailer for Spiral: From The Book of Saw, which stars Chris Rock and Samuel L. Jackson

This is the first time we’ve seen the plot in action, sending Rock and Jackson on the hunt for a presumed Jigsaw copycat killer. The upcoming ninth installment has a bit of a “reboot” aspect to the Saw franchise, as in the trailer you’ll see a brand new puppet to go along with a fresh design for the iconic pig mask first seen in the original Saw from James Wan and Leigh Whannell.

It also includes fresh new traps that takes us back to when the series was exciting (IMO the first three Saw films make it the strongest horror film trilogy).

Here’s a synopsis for Spiral:

A criminal mastermind unleashes a twisted form of justice in Spiral, the terrifying new chapter from the book of Saw. Working in the shadow of his father, an esteemed police veteran (Samuel L. Jackson), brash Detective Ezekiel “Zeke” Banks (Chris Rock) and his rookie partner (Max Minghella) take charge of a grisly investigation into murders that are eerily reminiscent of the city’s gruesome past. Unwittingly entrapped in a deepening mystery, Zeke finds himself at the center of the killer’s morbid game.

Spiral is directed by Darren Lynn Bousman (Saw 2, 3, and 4) and written by Josh Stolberg & Pete Goldfinger.
