Does Britney Spears Have Beef With Jennifer Lopez For Sampling Justin Timberlake's Cry Me A River On New Album?

So fans with way too much time on their hands are speculating that Britney Spears has a bone to pick with Jennifer Lopez, who apparently samples Justin Timberlake's Cry Me a River on her upcoming album's title track This Is Me...Now.

The first time I heard TIMN was when Jenny from the Block performed the track on SNL last week. However, when I listened back to the song which was clipped from BreatheHeavy's IG page, I can definitely hear the sample JLo used for her song.

Britney also posted on her IG page a caption where people are speculating that she's throwing shade at JLo's new single Can't Get Enough, which is in all caps. In another shot she's seen giving the finger to the camera.

I'm sure some of you are wondering why would Britney shade Can't Get Enough when the JT sample is being used on another song?

According to the so-called internet sleuths, in the beginning of Can't Get Enough, it starts raining and one of the wedding attendees says it's an ominous sign.

"I bet she thinks the rain is a sign."

As for "Cry Me A River" there is rain in the music video (Britney also mentions rain in the answer song "Everytime").

I had no idea that Britney and Justin are the only musicians allowed to use rain as a symbol of sadness, darkness and melancoly, but here we are. Rain can also be used as a metaphor to wash away the negativity in one's life.

The lyrics and the video for "Can't Get Enough," seem to imply that she can't forget a certain person no matter who she marries (and that in the end she can't be satisfied with whoever she marries).

So is this also a sign that even though JLo is married to her "dream guy" Ben Affleck that she's still not satisfied?

Lest we forget, she has been someone else's wife 4 times, and has proven that she can't last five minutes without a man in her life, so I feel these comparisons are a bit of a reach.

I don't think JLo was influenced by the Cry Me a River video, nor do I feel she meant any malice by sampling CMAR. That should be on the producers.

Besides, artists should have the right to sample whoever they like as long as the artist sampled are paid (which is most likely Timbaland since he produced the track).
