As previously reported, Thalia Graves came forward in September and accused him of rape.

She detailed a gruesome incident where Sean Combs and his former bodyguard, Joseph Sherman, aka Big Joe, allegedly “drugged, bound, and raped her” at Combs’ Daddy’s House recording studio in New York City in 2001. However, TMZ reported that they obtained a November 2023 text message from Graves to her ex-boyfriend detailing why she sued Diddy, saying, “Because he’s the one that has the money.”

The message then shows Graves telling the man that if he corroborates her story of assault, she’ll pay him, allegedly typing, “What do you n$3 mil?” The ex-boyfriend then confirmed the story with the outlet, asserting that he saw the offer as a bribe. After receiving the text messages, the man then claims he blocked her number and her account on social media. Furthermore, Combs’ legal team is said to have obtained copies of the text message thread as well.

According to Complex, Gloria Allred, Graves’ attorney, claims that Diddy is just the latest example of a wealthy man using his status to attempt to silence a victim. Allred told the outlet that she wasn’t buying the text message story and that “our client is looking forward to her day in court.”

“It is very common that rich powerful men and their supporters attempt to discredit, shame, and humiliate accusers who have the courage to come forward,” Allred told the outlet. “The complaint speaks for itself. Our client is looking forward to her day in court.”

Sherman responded to Graves’ lawsuit on Thursday (Oct. 3) when he appeared in an interview for NBC New York. The former Bad Boy bodyguard claimed Thalia’s accusations were “a lie,” insisted that he didn’t know the woman, and that he wasn’t working for Diddy at the time.

“I’m not questioning her integrity. I’m questioning her claims against me,” Sherman said. “I wasn’t the head of his security. You got the wrong man. I’ve never seen you. I’ve never did anything negative with you. I’ve never been in the same room with you.”

VIBE contacted Diddy’s team for a comment but has yet to receive a response.

The sad part regarding this is that while there are people who have been victimized by Diddy over the past three decades, people will look at this moment and paint every person that comes with an accusation as a money grab.

Also, I should have known not to trust any person that's repped by Gloria Allred.
