Did Lady Gaga Subtlety Shade Katy Perry In Vogue Interview When Talking About Current State Of Pop Girlies?

Lady Gaga is expressing her admiration for some of the biggest names in music today, and if you were paying close attention to her strategic answer, she left out the Teenage Dream singer, who once upon a time she was friends with.

Speaking to Vogue for the mag’s October cover story, Gaga, who's follow-up to Chromatica dropsin February mentioned Charli XCX, Billie Eilish and Chappell Roan and said, “I mean, I really love them. I go on the internet and, like, cry.”

“And I love Taylor Swift too. And Kesha. I watch it all, and I’m like: Yup. Go! Just Go,” Gaga added, becoming emotional. “I’m not only cheering them on, I want them to know that my heart is in it with them. And I want them all to feel really happy.”

If you were paying close attention she mentioned nothing about Katy Perry, who at one time were both linked together in the drama surrounding the allegations that Dr Luke sexually assaulted Kesha.

In case you need a refresher, back in 2017 court documents were unsealed where a judge ruled that the singer defamed her former music producer, Dr. Luke, in 2016 text messages she sent to Lady Gaga.

Gaga also got into a heated verbal exchange with one of Dr. Luke’s lawyers while being deposed as part of the long legal battle between the producer and Kesha, according to court documents recently unsealed and reported by The Blast. At one point, Gaga tells Luke’s attorney that she “should be ashamed of yourself.”

As previously reported, Gaga credits her fiancé, Michael Polansky, with not only making her feel happy, but also inspiring LG7, which is what she’s calling her new album for now.

“He was like, ‘Babe. I love you. You need to make pop music,'” Gaga tells Vogue. Polansky adds, “Like anyone would do for the person they love, I encouraged her to lean in to the joy of it.”

“On the Chromatica tour, I saw a fire in her,” he adds. “I wanted to help her keep that alive all the time and just start making music that made her happy.”
