One of my favorite shows to emerge out of this quarantine is the Fox Soul series Out Loud with Claudia Jordan. What I love about the show is that it features opinions from four of the most seasoned women in show business – Lisa Raye, Syleena Johnson and Vivica A Fox. I love that these ladies are unafraid to state their opinions, and drop some knowledge about the business without fear of industry or fan backlash.
Whether or not you agree with their opinion, it shouldn’t affect your adoration for your favorite artists. However, when you take that fan adoration too far over the edge that we may need to not only call the cops on your ass, but possibly lock your ass in an insane asylum is when it becomes a problem.
So last week the ladies came under fire when they defended Usher‘s comments in regards to him saying that Nicki Minaj is a product of Lil Kim. There was no malice behind what the women were saying, so I don’t understand why fans can’t agree to disagree without resorting to threatening people they don’t know over an opinion they are paid to give.
Stan culture is beyond dangerous, and as someone who has been in the entertainment industry for 20 years, I don’t understand why people go hard for celebrities they don’t personally know. I hate to break it to you, but Nicki isn’t going to invite any of you to her house for dinner and a drink, nor is she going to bail you out of jail if you commit a crime on her behalf.
With that being said, check out what the ladies had to say below…
