Sources say that not only is the legendary diva — who hasn’t recorded a new album, aside from the obligatory Christmas fare, since 2013 — musically “inspired” by beau Alexander Edwards, but that the music exec brought her some tracks to get the project rolling.
During an interview with Jimmy Fallon last week, the late night host asked, “Could there be another album? Would you do another one?” to which Cher answered “I’m about to.”
A source tells Page Six the “Believe” singer, 78, and Edwards, 38, will be in the studio early next year collaborating on the session and that she’s “really excited.”
We also heard rumblings that she could return to Las Vegas for a residency. Another source tells us there are not current plans, but that “you never know.”
She has done three previous stints in Sin City: Caesar’s Palace in 1980, again from 2008 to 2011, and from 2017 to 2020 at Dolby Live.
Edwards previously worked as the Vice President of A&R at Def Jam and now works for Sony Music Publishing.
Cher and him previously worked together on her 2023 Christmas album. He has a producing credit on the song “Drop Top Sleigh Ride,” featuring Tyga.
Back in March, Cher – who has had a number one hit in every decade since the 1960’s — revealed that she would be working with Edwards.
“I think like any artist, when you’ve got something good, you’re excited,” she told E! News.
A source tells us that pair, who were first linked in 2022, are very close and that he has been spending more time at her Malibu manse.
The iconic singer seems everywhere lately. She’s been making the media rounds to promote volume one of her memoir, which is receiving raves from critics.
She just performed during the Victoria’s Secret fashion show last month and was also inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, where she performed with Dua Lipa.
