Over the weekend, pop icon and Academy Award winner Cher took to social media to address rumors regarding her dating life.
After she was spotted holding hands with music executive Alexander Edwards on Nov. 2, she wrote a series of posts about their budding relationship.
The tweets began on Nov.2, in which the 76-year-old shared an image of Edwards with a caption that simply said “Alexander” alongside a heart emoji.
After a curious fan asked the singer if the image was of her “new man,” she responded with a heart-faced emoji.
Reaction to the singer’s possible relationship on Twitter was largely encouraging on the platform, with many congratulating Cher.
“He better be treating you like the queen you are!” one user wrote in the comments section.
But not everyone is happy about the singer dating someone 40 years her senior.
In a follow-up tweet, Cher clapped back at "haters" who had a problem with the couple's age difference, writing: "I'm Not Defending us. Haters are Gonna Hate…Doesn' Matter That and Not Bothering Anyone."

One fan tweeted the singer expressing their concerns regarding Edwards' "intentions" towards the icon, Cher replied: "As we All Know …I WASNT BORN YESTERDAY,& What I Know For Sure…There Are No Guarantees. Anytime you make a Choice You Take a Chance. I've Always Taken Chances… It's WHO I Am."
She also wrote to another follower: "LOVE DOESNT KNOW MATH, IT SEES."
In other responses to her tweets, Cher gushed that Edwards treats her "like a queen" and that he has already been introduced to "everyone in my family."
Even though Alex shares a child with his ex Amber Rose, and has been called out for cheating on her, Cher is grown and knows what she's getting herself into.
I've even heard some people accuse Cher of pulling a Kardashian (since she and the infamous family are Armenian), meaning she's dating a black man for clout.
I don't know that to be true, but what I do know is that Cher has always dated younger men, and at the end of the day, if that's what you want, who am I to judge?
