The Apple and 360 hitmaker won't be one of the musical guests at the televised awards event because she is also due to appear onstage at the Grammy Awards on Sunday 2 February in Los Angeles, according to a source.
The source said: "She's decided it didn't feel right and she doesn't want the added pressure. She has planned a major performance at the Grammys and the thought of doing the same again at the Brits felt like it was too much."
Charli is still expected to attend the BRITs, but won’t take to the stage, the source claimed to The Sun. She is nominated in five categories including Song of the Year for Guess ft. Billie Eilish, Artist of the Year, Dance Act, Pop Act, and Album of the Year.
Meanwhile, former Little Mix star Jade Thirlwall has been rumoured to perform. Jade is nominated as a solo artist for the first time in the Pop Act and Song of the Year categories, for her hit Angel of My Dreams.
Speaking on the Bring on the BRITs with Mastercard: The 2025 nominations livestream with presenter Sian Welby as host, Jade said on the nominations: "As a band we were nominated a few times and that’s amazing and we have won three BRIT awards over the last 10 years, but when it is for your own music and my own personal experiences it does hit different and it feels special."
She continued: "When I first started this solo journey, I was writing a lot of music to exist outside of the group and fit as my own but the minute I wrote Angels of the Dream - that is when I knew that this is my sound." When questioned if she had told her fellow Little Mix bandmates about her nomination, Jade said: "I've not even told me mam, there is a lot of people to tell and then it will feel real and then when you get to the BRIT awards, it will feel like it is finally happening."
This year’s BRIT Awards are being helmed by Jack Whitehall, who has previously hosted the show four times. The 36-year-old comedian hosted the awards from 2018 until 2021 and will be back this year to take control of proceedings again.
There is also a rumour that the remaining members of One Direction could reunite at the BRITS and take to the stage to honour Liam Payne, who died in October last year. Sources have suggested that the remaining members of One Direction - Zayn Malik, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan - could come together again for a performance in tribute to their late bandmate.
A source told The Sun : "The tribute to Liam at this year’s awards show has caused a real buzz and speculation that the remaining One Direction bandmates could finally come back together again on stage. It would be an entirely fitting way to honour Liam and talks are already under way about how to make this segment of the BRITs unforgettable."
