Charlamagne is sharing a hopeful update on Wendy Williams.

While recent reports indicate that former radio and talk show host Wendy Williams is currently “incapacitated,” Charlamagne Tha God claims his former mentor seemed sharp as a tack as they caught up with one another over the holidays.
“I spoke to Wendy over the holidays. She was…seemed perfectly fine to me. Wendy sound like she can do radio tomorrow if she wanted to,” he shared with co-hosts DJ Envy and Jess Hilarious on The Breakfast Club Tuesday(Jan. 7). “She called me, and I don’t know what ‘incapacitated’ means in regards to dementia or whatever they said she was dealing with, but no, ain’t nothing incapacitated about Wendy Williams.”
When asked how was her energy during the call, Charlamagne replied, “She sound like Wendy Williams! I’m trying to tell you, she didn’t skip a beat.” He went on to say that Williams questioned why he didn’t sound more excited to chat, and that she could hear his phone accidentally slip into “recording” mode. She then called him out on it before dismissing the idea that he would purposefully record their call.
“She’s perfectly normal,” he insisted. Check out the clip below.
Back in November 2024, legal documents obtained by People indicated that Williams was deemed “cognitively impaired, permanently disabled, and legally incapacitated,” per her court-appointed guardian, Sabrina E. Morrissey. Since, however, the media maven has been spotted out twice, both times appearing to be in lucid and aware of her surroundings.
On Dec. 15, blogger Antoine Edwards shared a clip of Williams outside of a seafood restaurant in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., where she was seen smiling in the backseat of a truck as restaurant employees greeted her with her signature “How you doing?”
This was followed by Williams being spotted at her son’s graduation on Dec. 19
