In a case of 'doth we protest too much,' Chance The Rapper's wife is coming to her husband's defense after being clowned on social media for liking trans porn.
via Complex:
The Grammy-winning rapper began trending this week after he was accused of “liking” sexually explicit content on Twitter. The tweet in question—posted by a trans pornography account back in March—asked users there to chose between three types of trans content: “dating,” “adult games,” and “webcam,” all of which were accompanied by a hyperlink.
To no one’s surprise, the “like” immediately caused a stir on social media. While many defended Chance, others responded with bigoted, transphobic takes—some of which were directed at his wife, Kirsten Corley Bennett.
On Friday, Bennett took to social media to set the record straight and address the bothered “trolls.” She accused the haters of making a big deal out of nothing, and insisted Chance’s “like” wasn’t intentional.
“Y’all really be reachin’,” she began. “He’s never gonna address this, but all I have to say is we were literally at an event all night … the night before last, until late. We were celebrating, and sometimes you ‘like’ shit by accident. So all y’all little trolls coming for page, that are getting blocked, y’all can go to hell.”
Personally speaking, I felt like this was a non- issue that shouldn't have been addressed. Liking trans women or trans porn does not mean that you are gay, and people clowning him over his likes as well as the transphobic comments people were making just makes you immature and ignorant.
If you don't want people in your personal business, this is also why most people create two separate pages. One for your professional likes, and one for your personal.
