After spilling her guts in her best selling memoir, and finally becoming emancipated from that conservatorship her no good father had her in, it looks like Britney Spears is ready to get back to work on her highly-anticipated comeback album.

We hear Charli XCX and Julia Michaels are among the lyrical savants who have been tapped to pen tracks for what Spears’ team hopes will become the Princess of Pop’s first full-length release in nearly a decade.

However, our sources say Spears has not recorded any new material yet, as the project is only starting to take shape.

The US Sun was first to report on Charli’s involvement.

Reps for Spears, Charli and Michaels did not respond to Page Six’s requests for comment.

The “Toxic” singer, 42, last released an album in 2016, titled “Glory.”

She took a break from work in 2019 and later described it as a strike, explaining that she did not want her estranged father, Jamie Spears, to continue benefitting from her music sales during her conservatorship.

After a Los Angeles judge terminated the 13-year legal arrangement in 2021, Britney released collaborations with Elton John (“Hold Me Closer”) and Will.i.am (“Mind Your Business”) in 2022 and 2023, respectively.

Page Six first reported in August that Britney was planning on recording a new album amid her divorce from her third husband, Sam Asghari.

“She has an upcoming writers camp and is getting songs from some big artists,” a source told us at the time.

However, we’re told the Grammy winner ultimately pressed pause on returning to music to focus on the October release of her memoir, “The Woman in Me,” in which she candidly admitted to “struggling” with the idea of performing again after years of trauma.

Britney previously worked with Michaels, 30, on seven “Glory” songs, including the single “Slumber Party.”

Charli, meanwhile, submitted demos for the “Crossroads” star’s 2013 album, “Britney Jean,” to no avail.

“Nothing ended up on there, but I’m honored anytime Britney calls, obviously,” the “Boom Clap” singer, 31, shared on “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen” in 2022. “What a queen.”

This month marks the 25th anniversary of Britney’s debut album, “…Baby One More Time.”

I actually love this idea that she's working with Julia Michaels, who's an excellent pop music songwriter. I'm also a fan of Charli XCX, who helped usher the hyperpop sound into the mainstream, and has so many bops of her own (my particular album faves are from the Pop 2 and Sucker eras).

Now that Britney can make music on her own terms, I'm really excited to see what she plans to cook up sonically, and I'm hoping she'll get more experimental like she did with the Blackout, In The Zone albums

As far as producers go I can't think off the top of my head which producers she should work with. All I know is that she need not work with Will.i.am and his dated beats ever again in life.
