Britney Spears Looking To Repair Relationship With Ill Dad Jamie Spears?

Earlier today rumors were swirling that Britney Spears is seriously considering rekindling her relationship with estranged father Jamie Spears. Now comes word that Britney is not looking to repair her relationship with her ill dad.

“It’s just not true,” one insider close to the “Toxic” singer insists.

“Britney is on a healing journey, but a reconciliation with Jamie is not in the cards,” a second source adds.

The clarification comes after TMZ reported Wednesday that Britney — who once said she wanted Jamie in jail for his role in her “abusive” 13-year conservatorship — was looking to extend an olive branch to her father.

Sources claimed to the outlet that the Grammy winner has been wanting to reach out to Jamie, who is currently ill, since her recent split from her husband, Sam Asghari.

Jamie is reportedly suffering from an infection stemming from a knee replacement surgery he had 16 years ago, and has been in and out of the hospital for months.

The 71-year-old is set to undergo another operation Friday and has lost over 25 pounds through his health woes, according to the site.

Reps for Britney did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.

Britney, whose conservatorship was terminated in November 2021, is currently in touch with just one member of her family: her older brother, Bryan Spears.

Page Six reported Tuesday that Bryan is stepping in to support his sister as she navigates her latest divorce.

“He’s been staying over and helping her alongside a therapist,” an insider exclusively told us, calling Bryan’s presence “a great thing for all of” the Spears family.

Bryan, 46, stayed under the radar throughout his sister’s lengthy conservatorship battle.

He only publicly spoke about her legal situation once, admitting on a podcast in July 2020 that “having someone constantly tell you to do something has got to be frustrating.”

We reported that Britney, 41, had been “isolated” at her mansion in Thousand Oaks, Calif., after Asghari, 29, “deserted” her and filed to end their 14-month marriage on Aug. 16.

We heard that the “Hold Me Closer” singer was not “on good terms with her family,” particularly her dad and sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, but had an “OK” reunion with her mother, Lynne Spears, in May.

TMZ’s report Wednesday, however, said Jamie is open to a reconciliation with Britney, and there are no hard feelings on his part following the claims she publicly made against him.

The pair’s relationship reached an all-time low in 2021 when the “Crossroads” star said those closest to her “should all be in jail” for their roles in establishing her conservatorship.

“Ma’am, my dad and anyone involved in this conservatorship, and my management, who played huge roles in punishing me when I said ‘No’ [to going on tour] — ma’am, they should be in jail,” she told a Los Angeles judge at the time.

“I’ve lied and told the whole world I’m OK and I’m happy. I’ve been in denial. I’ve been in shock. I am traumatized.”

Britney later wrote on Instagram, “Honestly it still blows my mind every day I wake up how my family and the conservatorship were able to do what they did to me … it was demoralizing and degrading !!!!” before thanking the #FreeBritney movement for saving her life.

Prior to the termination of her conservatorship, the entertainer’s finances and personal decisions had been controlled by her father.

The guardianship — first meant to be temporary — was put in place in 2008 at Jamie’s request following his daughter’s much-publicized struggles in late 2007 following her divorce from Kevin Federline.
