Beyoncé’s Mother Tina Knowles Apologizes For Regretfully Liking Shady Post About Janet Jackson

Shortly after social media got her all the way together for liking a shady post about Janet Jackson, Tina Knowles has apologized for disrespecting the pop music icon.

It all started when Tina's friend took to social media to throw shade at Janet's ticket prices for the second leg of her Together Again tour.

“What a joke….they add $1000 for a 15 second meet & greet again. No front row for fans unless you want to bend over so they can continue to rake in the cash. You want Beyoncé prices, have real production. Just disgusted. I’m not the only one…oh the DMs I’m getting. Way to thank your fans for years of support,” Instagram user @let68 captioned the post.

Fans of Michael's baby sister immediately took notice of Knowles liking the post, with one responding, “I do not understand what is the weird obsession with disrespecting The Jacksons. To see Tina Knowles like a post that disrespect Janet makes me lose all respect for her.”

Another observer added on Twitter, “Like out of all people, yall choose THEE Janet Jackson to mess with? She’s literally the most unproblematic popstar ever. The woman who paved the way Beyonce walked through years later. Have some shame and respect.”

Knowles took to Instagram to set the record straight on Tuesday night after facing backlash.

“I received a phone call that I’m trending for liking a post about ticket prices and an artist overcharging,” she explained in a video. “First of all, being on the other side of that, I know better than anyone what a great production cost and that it’s expensive and I would never criticize another artist, let alone Janet Jackson, who is the queen of production.”

She went on to call the Jacksons “the first family of music — always have been and always will be. And I love and respect them.”

“Secondly, I stay away from negativity,” she continued. “If you follow me, then you know that I’m not involved in the mess. So, what I am guilty of is liking posts — going through when I’m in a big hurry and I don’t have time to really read, and liking things because I trust that these are people that I follow. That was a big mistake. I will never do that again. So, I just want you to hear it from my mouth that I would absolutely never do that.”

If that wasn’t enough, Knowles also posted a written message to further comment on the situation.

“I am saddened by this,” she wrote. “Janet Jackson is an icon and I would never question another artist. I took Destiny’s Child to see Janet when they were 15 years old. They always looked up to her and she opened doors for Beyonce. Why would I hate on her? I know now not to be in a rush and to be very careful. (I learned my lesson)! Especially when I have so much going on… I just wanted to clarify. I do know that you can see people’s likes so I would be pretty dumb to do that.”

I'm sure you did get a phone call - from your daughter. Beyoncé has worked too hard to not have any negativity tarnish her legacy, especially since she makes sure everything that comes out about her is approved by her.

Tina, just say you were being messy and leave it at that. If I'm on social media scrolling though the videos I'm following, I taske the time to pay attention to what I'm looking at before I like it. I don't just randomly like stuff because it's on my timeline.

Plus, what does Tina have going on in her life that she's sooooo busy that she doesn't have time to look at Instagram videos and posts?

At the end of the day if it wasn't for Janet and the blueprint she laid forth, there would be no Beyoncé. Don't get me started on the prices Beyoncé sets for her concerts without a meet & greet attached. At least Janet's fans get to meet and take a photo with their favorite icon.
