Bethenny Frankel Compares Blake Lively to Jennifer Lopez Amid ‘It Ends With Us’ Drama

Bethenny Frankel believes Blake Lively and Jennifer Lopez have something in common.

Frankel, 53, seemed to stand up for Lively as she described how celebrities tend to take on multiple lucrative audiences which can overwhelm their target audience.

The film is about a woman who becomes embroiled in an abusive romantic relationship, but Lively, 36, has been receiving criticism over how she has been promoting the film.

The actress recently did a pop-up for her line of non-alcoholic beverages, Betty Buzz, that was inspired by Lively's character in the film. She also launched her own line of haircare products last week shortly before the movie's release.

In video taken during a walk on the beach, Frankel seemingly attempted to sympathize with Lively: 'What I think is that celebrities have now reached a fever pitch of trying to triple and quadruple dip in monetizing businesses other than their core business.

'And traditionally celebrities just made money on movies and television. But now it's just become a common practice to try to really bum rush and smash and grab as much as you possibly can at the same time.

'So if she's dressed and in hair and makeup and doing a press tour for a movie, leaving her family and kids and so is he, she's going to maximize it.'

She compared Blake's current situation to Jennifer Lopez, who earlier this year released two films, an album, had a now axed-tour in the works, in addition to promoting her line of cocktails, Delola.

'And this was an issue with Jennifer Lopez as well, who was marketing two movies, her drink, her relationship, an album, and a tour, and the audience got waterboarded and didn't want it.

'And in this case, what's happening, this is a very sensitive subject matter, the basis of this movie, and to be promoting a cocktail brand and a haircare product and talking so much in a lighthearted way about a topic that for most people, but women in particular, is not a lighthearted topic, you are all a very savvy audience, and it's just not sitting well. That's what I think is going on.

'You can't fit 25 pounds of s**t in a five pound bag. It will explode and you'll have s**t all over you,' she humorously concluded.

She added another explanation in her caption: 'As someone who grew up in a domestic violence home and who has experience in the monetization of media, I think this is the perfect storm, a cautionary tale and a convergence of mishandled circumstances and over communication without sensitivity to the subject matter.

'I also believe the higher the pedestal we place people on, the harder they fall. I don’t believe in pile on cancelation. I believe in learning from our own and other people’s blind spots and mistakes. #itendswithus #celebrities #blakelively #pr #movies #branding'

In addition to the promotional style, It Ends With Us has been making headlines over an alleged feud between Lively and director Justin Baldoni.

Frankel attended the New York City premiere for It Ends With Us last week and documented her unforgettable evening attending the event.

The Real Housewives of New York alum got real about the wardrobe malfunction she endured after rain impeded with her efforts to look glamorous on Tuesday evening.

The ever-candid star shared photos detailing her unforgettable night out - which included Bethenny shielding herself from the storm with a shawl as she strode through the Big Apple in her red carpet ready look.

'My strap on my dress came off,' Bethenny explained in video included in the post. 'I was in the rain, my shoes that are gorgeous, are soaked. The wheels are off. I can't go out. This is why nobody takes me anywhere, it's a freaking disaster.'

Bethenny was sitting inside a car seemingly after the premiere as she presented her snapped off strap and her footwear to the camera.

In the caption, she explained: 'Well only @blakelively could get me out of pajamas eating chicken salad and only I can manage to turn a glamorous evening into a trainwreck before the event even starts,' she began.

'The good news is the journey is always as much fun as the destination, as long as margaritas, laughter, a wardrobe malfunction and a monsoon are involved. I suppose “it ends with us” but it begins with me making a jackass out of myself…'

'PS. Blake looked beautiful and I did pass Anna Wintour by the popcorn stand & audibly gasp… she told me my Met Gala invite is in the mail & we made a date to shop together at TJ Maxx.

'Perfectly unhinged,' she concluded, followed by a popcorn, umbrella, and margarita emoji, and a slew of hashtags.

The post contained snaps capturing her at various stages throughout the evening, from her perfectly polished, red-carpet ready look to her attempting to evade the rain.

Bethenny wowed in a corset inspired pink dress with elegant floral necklace and pink inspired makeup palette.

She looked incredible striking poses on the red carpet with a bejeweled Valentino purse in hand.

But Bethenny's troubles appeared to have begun once she left her abode, as she shared snaps of herself battling the rain.

She used a sheer shawl to shield herself from the wet weather, and posted a silly selfie of the cloth draped over her head.

But overall the evening seemed to be a success, with Bethenny sharing happy snaps of her at the theatre in addition to margaritas at a restaurant.

In It Ends with Us, Blake plays Lily Bloom, a woman beginning a passionate — and later abusive — relationship with Ryle Kincaid, played by Baldoni.

The film was directed by Baldoni and was adapted from Colleen Hoover's 2016 romance novel of the same name.
