Ben Affleck Taken Aback By Jennifer Lopez Sharing Love Letters He'd Written Her To Musicians

Now that JLo's ninth album is out, word on the street is that her husband, actor-director Ben Affleck, who has been hugely supportive of her putting the album and documentary together was surprised she shared with songwriters the private love letters he wrote her to serve as inspiration for “This Is Me … Now.”

Per Variety, in a preview for her forthcoming Amazon Prime documentary, “The Greatest Love Story Never Told,” Lopez had invited musicians to their home and gave them access to Affleck’s love letters.

Ironically, the “Gone Girl” actor walked in at that very moment and was surprised to see the letters being passed around.

“I did really find the beauty and the poetry and the irony in the fact that it’s the greatest love story never told,” Affleck, 51, said to the camera.

“If you’re making a record about it, that seems kind of like telling it.”

The “Selena” actress, 54, had previously teased the existence of her husband’s romantic letters.

In another teaser of the movie released in November, the mom of two was filmed holding a letter dated Dec. 24, 2002, which appeared to be from Affleck.

“Life’s tough but you’re sweet,” the note read. “Thanks for the gift. Hope you like the flowers. You told me you could never have enough. I believe you.”

It was also signed, “B.”

Lopez — who wed her “Gigli” co-star in Vegas in July 2022 — previously said the project would be the “most honest thing she’s done.

“People think they know things about what happened to me along the way — but they really have no idea, and a lot of times they get it so wrong,” she told Vogue in November 2022.

“There’s a part of me that was hiding a side of myself from everyone.”

“The Greatest Love Story Never Told” documentary is set to be released on Feb. 27 on Amazon Prime. Her album comes out Feb. 16.

While I am happy that JLo believes she has finally found love in a hopeless place, but lately as she's been promoting this new album I'm going to have to agree with something Jane Fonda said.

The actress who starred alongside JLo in Monster-In-Law and also stars in The Greatest Love Story Never Told recently admitted she has concerns for Bennifer.

"I want you to know that I don’t entirely know why, but I feel invested in you and Ben, and I really want this to work," Fonda says in the documentary, per Variety. "However, this is my concern. Like, it feels too much like you’re trying to prove something instead of just living it. You know, every other photograph is the two of you kissing and the two of you hugging."

That wasn't the only concern Fonda had that was shown in the documentary. She also said she's noticed Affleck's viral photos out in public and at the GRAMMYs in March 2023, where it looked like he was upset or bored.

"I got real scared, you know, with all that s**t about the Grammys and he looks unhappy and I’m like, 'Oh, my God, what’s happening?'" Fonda admitted.

But once again, Lopez brushed off the comment, saying, "Nothing! He was like, 'I’ve become the symbol of the beleaguered man.'"

I do agree that Ben always looks stressed and annoyed whenever he's at award shows or when the paparazzi catches the couple out in public,

I've always thought of Ben as someone who loves the arts, but despises the spotlight. Jennifer on the other hand is a fame whore. She loves being on red carpets showing off the latest fashions, and being fawned over.

So I hope her marriage lasts, but also do what you can to protect what you have without exploiting it for worldwide consumption.
